JOSÉ JOSUÉ HERNÁNDEZ

Dr. José J. Hernández is an experienced pharmaceutical health services researcher.  He has more than 20 years of experience working with secondary databases to measure the impact of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions on humanistic, economic, and clinical outcomes. Dr. Hernández has worked extensively with several administrative claims databases at the state, federal, and private levels.

For the past 15 years, first at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus and subsequently at the Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, Dr. Hernández has conducted numerous research projects describing the utilization of pharmaceutical health services by the Hispanic population. Highly prevalent chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and rheumatoid arthritis has been the focus of his research.

Dr. Hernández earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacoepidemiology and a Master in Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine from the University of Maryland. He also holds an MPH in Epidemiology and is a licensed pharmacist in the state of Texas and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. He holds an extensive publication portfolio and collaborative research with numerous insurance companies and pharmaceutical benefit managers across the Nation.
